Alec is crazy, to hear what he has to say to his own young daughter is just sad. No one should talk to their daughter/son like that.

Wow, wow, wow! So messed up. I sincerely hope that Ireland has a strong head on her shoulders to look past her father's behavior. Father/daughter relationships are so key to their future relationships with men.

His publicist's statement is absolutely ridiculous. Anyone who knows him knows what he's been through in the last 6 years??? Screw that. What about what Ireland's been through in the last 6 years? Alec's the adult here, in theory anyway.

And the whole shift of blame to Basinger and her lawyer is disgusting. Alec obviously can't keep his mouth shut, the tape is unfortunate evidence of that.

Alec Baldwin is crazy. I live in New York and am always hearing reports of him going nuts and lashing out at people. The guy needs some professional help. Poor Ireland!!

It's so sad that Baldwin and Basinger, both, can't keep things civil for the sake of their daughter. With all the gossip of how messy this custody battle is and now with this coming out, it makes one forget who the adults are supposed to be in this situation. And it's absolutely disgusting to hear a father talk to his own daughter that way, no matter how enraged he is. There's no excuse.

Father's that do this make me SO MAD, not only because the kid is being put through it, but he gives a terrible name to every father out there who is doing the BEST he can for his children. I have watched my fiance (and been there and involved the entire time) go through a HORRIBLE custody battle where he was accused of every heinous thing you can think of by the kid's mother just so she could keep custody (and the child support). It P*SSES me off that men like this get this publicity and give bad names to every father struggling to gain custody of their children.
A REAL father would deal directly with their ex-spouse or mate, and not even ALLOW the child to hear any of the discussions. BOTH of Ireland's parents should be keeping her from their own fights. This is very disgusting.

No one should talk to anybody like that, let alone a father to his daughter.

From what I understand, he has anger issues anyway. Was he the one on Celebrity fit club? It was one of the Baldwin brothers and he had a serious attitude.

I see the future, this girl is going to be another flasher on the hollywood party scene. These kids get severely screwed up by their parents huge egos. Half of this child's life has been both her parents fighting over her like she's some house or car. Sad stuff.

At this point I vote for her to go live with her born again Aunt Chynna and Uncle William. At least she would have a loving, stable, faith based home!

The two of them are awful to each other, and claim it's for the good of the child. If they truly wanted what was best, this would be a private issue and they wouldn't spend all their energy telling Ireland how awful the other one is.

I feel for Kim. Maybe she released the tape to show the world that Alec isn't good for her daughter. Poor Ireland. As for Alec: dude you need to learn to control your anger and remember that whatever you say to a child can be very damaging. Kids are like sponges.

I felt sad listening to it, and a bit guilty. I felt like I was intruding. It's a horrible message but he's just an angry parent. Being famous certainly has it's downsides. I'm sure I've left messages in my life that I'd regret hearing again. I'm sure are long gone and never spread around the internet!

At this point it is pure speculation to say that Kim released this tape. There were copies of it at her Attorney's office and in a sealed court file (those seals are nothing more than thin red tape). That being said, we can actually hear Alec on the tape verbally abusing his daughter over a missed phone call. This directly supports Kim's claim that Alec is an abusive, controlling individual. She has tried in vain to convey this to the Family Court Judge assigned to her case and gotten nowhere. I certainly don't believe it is okay to violate a court order, and if infact she did, she needs to be held in contempt. BUT, when your ex is manipulating the system and further harming your child, it's hard not to feel desperate. Let the focus be on keeping Ireland safe.

Harvey from TMZ is stating they got it legally, that would leave out the court or its employees. He insinuated it was Kim and Ireland. Well sorry, Ireland is too young to enter into any contract without parental permission.

Maybe ireland is manipulative who knows. When kids realise they can play their parents off against each other they can be totally brutal, believe me I did this to my parents growing up. He shouldnt have called her a little pig but it sounds like alec is really just furious and I think somewhere along the line a lot of us have had worse conversations with our parents.
