Madonna Visits Malawi

Madonna took Lourdes and her adopted son David Banda to Malawi this weekend, but she's not looking to adopt again just yet. She was in Africa to continue her charity projects, which include working to help development and growth in impoverished villages. Here's more:

The singer, dressed in combat trousers, khaki T-shirt and black boots, was greeted by singing women and children as she inspected the maize crop and storage facilities and stood by the fish pond.

Madonna's New York-based publicist Liz Rosenberg said the singer was visiting to continue her work with her Raising Malawi organization and denied speculation of another adoption.

"She is overseeing the building of a children's health care center. She is absolutely not adopting another baby," Rosenberg said in a statement.

Since all the paperwork regarding David Banda's adoption hasn't even cleared yet, we're not surprised to hear that she's not looking to adopt again just yet. However, it's wonderful that Madonna continues to use her fame for doing good in more ways than one. It's also great she took along Lourdes to help do good. How grown up does Lourdes look these days? I can't believe she's only 10.

HAHAHAHA---- the first thing I noticed was the mustache! You'd think with all the time she spends on herself, Madonna would have that taken care of (or have someone to take of it for her)

Could for her. I know the people on the receiving end are much appreciative of her helping them. Lourdes is a such a beauty I think, and she and her mom seem to have a nice mom & daughter bond.

We know Madge is a strict mother..maybe she has a strict no shaving/depilatory rule until she is 20.

    Holiday.. celebrate!!

She's only ten so maybe her skin is too sensitive to wax or shave. I'm sure she'll be doing something about it by the time she starts liking boys, lol. She's still a gorgeous little girl. It doesn't help that she looks miserable and hot in this pic.

She's young. She has the rest of her life to fill with beauty rituals. I think laughing at a child is abhorrant and you should think twice at your responses.

She is only 10! And think about it, her mother is half italian and father spanish... Come on, those are some strong genes!
But still, poor kid, her eyebrows are also pretty dark...
But like I said in the begining... She's only 10, so give her a break!

It is unfortunate for her to have dark facial hair, but she is only 10. I'm sure her mom will help her to deal with it when she dreams Lourdes is old enough. Shame on you for making fun of a child.

If is wonderful that Angelina is helping Africa why isn't it
for Madonna. She is even building a day care that will help
a lot of children. She is even there to make it go through.

Joanna, who said it wasn't wonderful that Madonna was helping? I'm thrilled about it. I'm thrilled that Ashley Judd is bringing attention to AIDS and malaria, and also Salma Hayek speaking out on domestic violence. Anyone doing anything is great as far as I'm concerned.

good old madge will have that stache taken care of as soon as she sees this photo. maybe it's bad because of the conditions in Malawi (heat, dust) that it looks worse than it really is? i dunno, i do think madge seems to have a great bond with her daughter.

I think it's mean that we tend to focus only on the obvious. "Lola has a stache". She is only 10 years old. I wasn't allowed to shave my legs until I was 15. I think as a society we add pressure to young girl's to conform to an adult image quickly. Besides Madonna didn't shave her pits till the late 80's. I think Women with Mustaches are empowering. We are also focusing on this little girl and what Madge looks like instead of what she's doing in that country. I think it amazing she has taken Lola and they do seem to have a pretty amazing bond. Heck cheers to Lola I'm going to wear a Stache too!

at 10 I think I also had a unibrow! I'm not so much laughing at as laughing with! Believe me.. Smiling It just reminded me of her mother's 80's preferance to not shave anything. And I know that Madge has said that she is a strick mother.no tv.. no fast food.. no dating until 18..ect. So it figures.

Well YEAH she'll hear about it. She MADONNA'S daughter, for Pete's sake. If the kid can have her own credit card then what's the big deal with a little 'stache bleach or whatever?

God...I cannot believe that it's the first thing that you notice in a kid is that she has a mustache instead of saying she looks tired or something else. She's just 10, and I know many girls that have bushy eyebrows and a little mustache at that age. I don't think Madonna is being careless of her child, she just wants her to have a normal life as a normal kid. Do you think it would be normal for her to wax or bleach at the age of 10? I don't think so. I do not think a girl should even that much about that stuff until is close to 18.
