Demi and Ashton's Campaign Hits Iowa

After another Friday afternoon coaching his team, Ashton Kutcher joined Demi Moore at Iowa State University for the Vote Early For Change Rally on Saturday. The happy couple is traveling around Ashton's home state talking to university students about their support for Barack Obama and the importance of voting. Demi said, "That's what scares me, that if we have another four years of what I call the same dance, a different partner, that's not a dance I want to show up to." It was another big weekend for politics all around — wonder if the busy duo still found time to catch Friday's debate or Tina Fey back as Sarah Palin on SNL.

To see more of Ashton and Demi just read more.

I am all about Obama, but please let educated people speak for him. These two looked like total goofs speaking on emotions...if hollywood is going to go political, they need to go political and educated!!!

Also, it is possible for republicans and democrats alike to vote for a candidate from an opposing party, if its the right candidate!! Eye-wink

Myfairlady, I can't wait either! It's going to be non-stop entertainment.

As for Demi and Ashton...I despise celebrity endorsements of politicians. It bewilders me how some people actually base their votes off of them.

well at least they are being more active than just hosting a party to get people to donate to the cause. i think that it's good that they are going around to the different colleges in the hopes that they can raise awareness to students on the issues that obama supports.

The more Hollywood is so vocal against McCain and Plain especially their personal attacks on Palin will only help the Republican party.

Shout out to Demi...would you rather dance with someone who doesn't know how? Someone who has the *least* experience of all 4 pres/vp candidates? Be careful what you wish for, America:((

Why wouldn't celebrities endorse politicians? They are American citizens, they live in this country, and seems to me that they care what future holds for us all. I also volunteer for Obama campaign.
If I was a celebrity, you would see my picture all over the media!

Why doesn't everyone get it? It is not the Republican presidents fault we are in this mess, it is the Democratic House and Congress. Jeeeezzzz! Want a bigger mess, want more taxes, then fall for the media hype and vote democratic. You deserve what you get.

I agree. People do not realize that the DEMOCRATIC party has been in control for the last few years. It's so easy (and the in thing to do) to bash Republicans. It's so robotic to blame the President when they need to look at who the real culprit is and that's the Democratic party.

Who would vote for a man who has spent the last 20 yrs standing behind a preacher who has preached hate and destruction to the white race? It concerns me that Obama (or his highly educated wife) did not see through that man early on and get the H out of there. But they stayed...for 20 yrs. Until the Republicans got a hold of what he was preaching and made it public...THEN Obama says he doesn't agree...RIGHHHHHT.

Michelle had written 3 thesis' in college on how white America has held down black America. Her brother wrote thesis' on the exact same thing. There is hate in that family, that's obvious, because instead of a paper full of blame, it would have been about something else, like ideas on how we could all unite as a country..instead it was the same ole blame song and dance..no solutions, just blame. I know who I'm voting for, and it's certainly not Obama. He never looks excited or passionate about anything. Almost like he has no emotions. The New York Post even did a story on how he never reacts emotionally, like you never see that he's human. Is he that good at hiding his feelings?

I'd rather vote for a man who truly put his life on the line for our freedom and had the guts enough to stay with his comrades IN CAPTIVITY, because he didn't want to leave them there, even after they told him he could go home. That is a true hero who loves this country. He wouldn't want harm to come to us and I know he has no ulterior motives.

Islander71, as much as I sympatize with McCain's war story, enough is enough. He's been milking it for a past few decades and demands we call him a hero.
My mother's family[adults and 2 small kids] starved to death in Siberia during WWII, my grandfather spent 3 years in concentration camp, several other mamily members died in battles all over Europe and their bodies were never found. My uncle escaped from Nazi prison. Nobody is calling them heroes. These things happen during wars and I only hope McCain made peace with what happened to him. If he can't, perhaps he's not ready to take our country into the future.

    I saw videos of them...they're a joke.

Economy? Three words: Community Reinvestment Act.

Bush and Mccain have been warning us about this for a while and congress never acted. Of course, Fannie and Freddie were paying them off, so why would they? It pays not to step up, isn't that right Obama??

    Actually tiabia you are wrong.

The last BOOM in real estate was in 2005 and ended in 2006. I'm a realtor I should know.

During this time, it was extremely easy to get a loan. Lenders thought that they would be able to make money from buyers even if they did not pay for the mortgage through the high interest rates they were charging and the ever-increasing value of real estate. But when interest rates started to rise, people stopped buying homes.

Additionally, homeowners started failing to make payments due to the interest rate spike, sparked by the DEMOCRATS who had taken over in Washington.

due all respect to your "family" who's been through all that..but there are families all over the world who have been though that and worse, but there is one critical thing you are leaving out. NO ONE IN YOUR FAMILY IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. Honestly, when bad things happen you either let it beat you down or you get stronger for it. McCain didn't retire away to Florida and try to forget his "wounds" and live with a bunch of cats. No, he learned from it and living through what he lived though made him a stronger person. Why wouldn't he talk about what happened to him when he was in a prison camp??? You say you are sick of hearing about it, but if it had been something negative about him the Democrats would be harping on it everyday. You can better believe if OBAMA had been through anything remotely as painful, he would be playing it everyday. Instead he played the race card. The easiest and what would get him the most sympathy votes.

To be honest, I'm really sick of hearing him talk about growing up black..especially when he was raised by whites. Go figure!

That's all he has to talk about was growing up black. lol First off, he didn't have anything to do with that and second of all he didn't grow up in the projects...he grew up with rich white grandparents in Hawaii!! It's amazing how people say they are sick of hearing about McCain and his war time. At least that is something that McCain did out of love for the country, and not like in Obama case. Being black is his strongest commodity and that was just a product of lust, nothing else.

lol...truth hurts I guess. I wonder why my comment got removed.

    Just stating facts.

I'll try again. The last boom in realestate was in 2005 and early 2006. Then it took a nose dive.

POPgoesthe Weasel, seriously??? Since when being captured and spending 5 years in prison constitues patriotism? This man, let me remind you, graduated at the very bottom of his class. If he studied harder and applied himself to education, he would have been more equipped in skills and knowledge to serve his country better.
And that would show his love to this country.
And maybe it is time to retire now. he's 72 years old, for god's sake. What does he think he can do?? I'm afraid it is too late.

    Daisy,

I find if laughable that you are critical of McCain's education. The luxury to be completely ungrateful and ignorant of the sacrifices made on your behalf was made possible by people like him who have put on the uniform of this country while you sit at home and contemplate your next trip to Starbucks.

It's also funny that the way you define someone showing that they love their country is something ultimately self-serving that requires no inherent physical risk or great sacrifice. I'll let all the 21 year old binge-drinking trust fund students at UC Berkeley know that they're love of country is greater than the 21 year old grunts dodging IED's in Afghanistan.

Um, Daisy? You do know that John McCain was given the chance to go home and didn't take it, right? Because other soldiers had gotten there before him and he thought it was unfair? Because he didn't want the Vietnamese to use his release as propaganda for their cause? Even though he was brutally tortured and his body is still messed up to this very day (which is, incidentally, why he can't use a computer--nice job on that ad, Obama camp!)? Not to mention that, unlike certain other former presidential hopefuls, he served his time in Vietnam, but didn't come back and bad-mouth and undermine the efforts of his fellow soldiers. He came back and continues to serve his country and fellow veterans and soldiers to this very day by doing what he thinks is best, regardless of what others think of him (even members of his own party--many of whom were only grudgingly voting for him before Sarah Palin was put on the ticket.)

I get not agreeing with John McCain's policies, but I really didn't think anyone would question his patriotism. That's just a tad extreme.
