Pink Gets Censored?

Pink was in a great mood earlier this week when she stopped by Koi in West Hollywood. Even though she seems to be in a good mood apparently she's pissed that one of her songs is being censored. Lucky for her, Jimmy Kimmel let her sing it and discuss more about it on his show. Here's more:

Pink appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and thanked him for letting her sing and discuss the song, which she says the hasn’t been able to do on the radio or other TV shows.

“Dear Mr. President,” which attacks Bush’s domestic and war policies, is an open letter to the president, she explained.

“Are you hoping President Bush will make a song back to you?” Kimmel said, joking.

“Yes,” Pink quipped. “Through Eminem.”

Isn't being able to voice what you think of your country's government apart of belonging to a democracy? :S

It's a nice song, has a lot or truth in it, I like it.
I don't understand what she meant about 'Through Eminem'. She's looking very relaxed and gorgeous since she got married - she doesn't try too hard to be all attitude-y any more.

There is a difference between actual censorship and radio stations/tv shows that care about nothing more than making money choosing not to air controversial things that might cut into their precious profits.

She's pissed that other people are worried about their profits because it's cutting into hers. Ha! That's funny.

I thought she was going to have some sort of police anklet on... "sensored" you know. I'm not a Pink fan, haven't listened to the song, but censoring things on the radio is not new. Movies on tv are the same way. Watch Fast Times at Ridgemont High on Comedy Central sometime for proof.

The Grammar Police are here in force this morning!

She's not being censored. Radio stations are not playing the song because they don't wish to. Censoring would be the government not allowing the song to appear anywhere nor heard anywhere. That is not the case. The song is on her album and it IS getting airplay, just not where she wants it to get airplay. There's no freedom of speech being violated here, just media outlets preferring not to play her song, which is well within THEIR rights.

I have never seen her look so good. I would love to see her clothing style go more hippy-chic. It softens her hard edges in a very flattering way. That dress looks great on her!

Why are you people so uptight? You try posting hundreds of blog posts daily, I'd love to see how well you do.
I heard Pink sing this live and it was a great song. I think Padraigin is right about the no airplay vs. censorship issue. Her dress is cute btw.

i agree with pad on this one. most radio stations are not going to play a song that aligns themselves one way or another for on a political view but eminems anti war song did get more airplay then this one, i wonder why....

I love PInk, but I don't believe that she's being censtored. I think the stations aren't playing her new song because its not what they're used to coming from Pink or not what their listeners want to hear. Who knows? Most of the celebs are very local about their politics. Why would they single Pink out? Doesn't make sense to me.

I'm glad she is using her celebrity to speak out on serious issues, but I agree with everyone who said that it is the prerogative of the radio stations on what they want to play. Plus, I agree with OC on the grammatical errors...

I wonder why people get pissed when a mistake is pointed out. I didn't make fun of anyone, just tried to contribute to the quality of the site, but maybe you should change it back to "sensored" so Kelly O doesn't feel bad.

Agreed with the folks who insist it's not censorship. That's a stupid word to use and it's totally like her to make a big deal out of something like that. She tries too hard to pretend it's all about the 'art' and people wouldn't let her be who she is on her first album...if she feels compromised she does't have to keep making trite pop music with a mask of cultural relevance.
She does look good in those pictures though...for her.

I love PINK and that song too. Her hubby is a cutie. Yeah right..we have freedom of speech..but you can't speak about the truth of our society. Only then will they try to censor you. Wake up people.
