Michael Phelps Needs an Entourage to Manage His Schedule

Partying it up in NYC on Wednesday night didn't do anything to slow down Michael Phelps's schedule yesterday. The first item on his agenda was a stop by The Early Show before he headed off to announce a new program designed to get children swimming at a young age. After a quick dip in the pool with some kids, he was off to film an exciting guest spot on Entourage. Between his HBO cameo, hosting SNL, and presenting at the MTV VMAs, it looks like we'll still be seeing lots of Michael on TV, even though the Olympics are over.

To see lots more photos of Michael out in NYC, just read more.

I will read as much as you can post about Michael Phelps. He is such a positive influnece on society right now, rather than the usual regulars. He has shown us that anything is possible if you give it your all. IMO he deserves and has earned his moment in the spotlight!

I love him. I'm sure even didn't expect all this attention going into the games. How cute was he at the YMCA. I wonder if he's used to all the cameras yet?

I hope he can remain a good guy...Hollywood creates monsters. He should take his money and stay in his hometown.

i guess he's really getting a lot of press these days so i could understand why he needs some schedule management. i don't know what his role will be on entourage but i'm sure that i'll see it when the show is back on. as for the kids swimming program - i like those things. it's like what becks does for soccer.

What I really like is that the paps aren't trying to dig up any dumb things he did in the past or anything. I was kinda expecting to hear about the time he got drunk at a party or something so lame and they blow it out of proportion. I guess he is just a classy guy.

Oh my poor TIVO! It's going to explode!

And yeah Bri, he's a young kid so you expect SOMETHING stupid in his past. I'm just glad the press is classy enough about the fact that he's an Olympian and not a celebrity to leave it alone.

    Not EVERYONE is, but hey.

getting a DUI when underage is a pretty big deal especially for such a public figure. i'm suprised how swept under the rug it has been given all of his recent press. he should be held accountable. now that he is such a public figure, i think he could do a great deal of good by speaking out against drunk driving.

He WAS held accountable at the appropriate time - when it happened. Are you saying now that he is back in the public eye he should have to pay twice? Ridiculous.

I remember something vaguely about a DUI years ago, but I do remember that he did his required Community service as well as the PSA Amesabelle is referring to. I don't think it should be dragged up again, UNLESS he DOES it again.

I'm sorry you lost a loved one, but how is that Michael Phelps' fault exactly? He paid his dues for either not stopping at a stop sign or not signalling (I can't remember). He wasn't involved in an accident, didn't hurt anyone including himself, isn't a repeat offender.

gwendals, I've had three friends killed in drunk driving accidents. Two that were drunk themselves, one that was hit walking home.

I understand your pain, I really really do and I sympathize and empathize with you. I just don't think because someone screws up one time, pays the price and moves on, we should continue to blame them.

Young people do stupid things, it's how they handle the aftermath that makes them into great adults.

I hope Michael's career continues to go well. He's such a nice guy and a great athlete. Although I'm sure in a month, he'll go back to training and we won't hear about him for another 2-3 years. Which sucks.
