The A-List Invades Courtside at NBA Finals

Game three of the NBA Finals came to LA last night, and some A-List Lakers fans were front and center for the action. David Beckham gave his two cents on Kimmel but didn't give up those courtside seats to watch their boys win (boo, go Celtics!) alongside Brooklyn. Fergie sported her team spirit on her hat while Kanye looked a touch bored. Our American Idol David Cook sang the national anthem for the night. Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie looked more into each other than the game. Game four is coming up on Thursday; let's see how many repeat faces can score seats for another finals match up.

you always see so many celebs at the game courtside - i wonder if they have their reps call the team or what? that's got to be a great perk don't you think?

kobe is the biggest cry baby that should have been ejected after that technical foul when he kept complaining, phil jackson should have been fined like any other coach would have if they would have made all those comments he made about the refs, what a rigged game bullsh*t fouls just to make up to the lakers, for last game, may the best team win and im sure that will be the celtics, btw hilary looks so happy in love and beautiful

brian the spurs will take it from the mavs anyday, you know what the mavs new coach needs to do is tell mark cuban to shut the hell up and maybe they may have another chance, but anyway i know the spurs need to get some younger players and it will be over

How was David Cook? Seems like he got soo quiet the week after the AI finale. Kobe may be a "bit" of the jerk but i still can't help be amazed when he plays - boy def got game.

Totally OT, Happy B-day Shia , i hope we get a Shia post today.

no doubt kobe has talent but with all that talent he shouldnt be such a cry baby looking for fouls and complaining when one is not given thats my real beef with him, why not just play, this guy can shoot with his eyes closed on the other side of the court and make it, a little exaggeration, so why complain

As unpopular as it may be, I am cheering for the Lakers - but Paul Pierce is from LA and I have liked him forever...but still Go Lakers.

I saw the Glow in the Dark tour and Kanye was AMAZING. The whole show was amazing. He seems a little sad, but who could blame him. After he sang about his Mamma (which was courageous in my opinion)he choked up a little bit. He is honest and doesn't sensor his opinions, so he's great to me. He's not all glitz and glamour like Jay-z. Hopefully he won't retire after every album hereafter, too.

Rhianna loooked amazing, and I'm not a Rhianna fan. She was looking gorgeous. NERD was great and Lupe Fiasco was amazing. Great show!!!! I'm still in shock.

    ha.
it is very welll known around the league that tim is a royal complainer. he always makes that face like "what me"?
of course, i am just busting your ( balls) i actually like the spurs.
but in case you think it's just me, well here you go:Tim Duncan is going to go down as the best PF to play the game. (that coming from a Jazz/Malone Fan) When Duncan first came in the league and played with Robinson (class act) he was great. However now he is the biggest complainer in the league. In his mind, he hasn't committed a foul in 6 yrs and every time someone breaths on him, it is a foul. Grow up TIMMY.
    DUNCAN SUCKS!!!!!
HE'S A BIG BABY AND WILL ALWAYS STINK UP THE LEAGUE WITH THE REST OF THE SENIOR TEAM, I MEAN THE SPURS!!!
Little harsh, but my thoughts exactly.
(none of those were written by me, just random ranters. so you can see, duncan has a history of complaining, there are LOTS more but i do not have the time to tell you about them

Uh, okay, homer much? Kobe was complaining - and by the way complained a LOT less than, oh say, Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker or Paul Pierce complain when they don't get foul calls or get ones against them they feel are unfair without getting T'd up - because he clearly got reached in on (which is, *gasp*, a foul) right in front of Bennet Salvatore and Salvatore swallowed his whistle. Phil probably should have been fined with the NBA's inanely ridiculous rules of not being able to question the reffing, which is clearly rigged or set-up in favor of home teams, but to be fair he didn't call out Bob Delaney or any of the other game 2 refs by name, which is usually where the fines come from. Also it was a fair critique - how come a ref is allowed to call a game tight on one end (the only 2 fouls that were really questionable that were called in game 2 against the Lakers was the offensive on Kobe, where Ray Allen stared down the ref until a late whistle was blown, and the foul of Kobe on Pierce where Brown set an illegal screen (moving screens are illegal in the NBA) and ran Kobe into Pierce - that was miscalled and should have been an offensive foul on PJ Brown) and let so much go on the other unless the games ARE rigged? Look at the alley-oop where Pau was ripped down without a whistle blown against the C's in game 2, or when Rondo mauled Pau to steal the ball (you AREN'T allowed to slap the arms of the ball handler), or when Garnett was mauling Pau in the low post early in game 2, or in the 4th of that game when Kobe was in the lane and Pierce grabbed his jersey (again, that is a foul that was being called on the other end, funny that) so Kobe switched the ball to his left hand and made the shot (he should have gotten an And-1 on that)? OR what about the ridiculous moving and illegal screens Garnett ALWAYS sets and NEVER gets called on? When he was finally called on one at the end of game 3, with about 20 seconds left, he had actually set FIVE illegal screens in the same possession before they called it. Seriously, go watch it on your DVR or look on youtube for it. You want to talk about BS fouls being called for the Lakers in game 3, really? Where? All the calls made for both teams were legit fouls, it's just the refs were letting Boston get away with a lot more in the Fake Garden and they weren't letting them get away with the same in Staples, it's as simple as that, the players have to adjust to the ways the refs are calling it. And there were missed calls on BOTH sides. Like I said, KG's constant illegal screens, PJ Brown's illegal screens, Perkins' moving screens, Rondo's, Allen's and Posey's handchecks, Perkins' constant pushing off and going over the back, KG holding and pushing off, Pau mauling Pierce on a missed trey attempt and getting no whistle. You can go both ways, but the refs missed calls on both ends and made pretty much the same calls on both ends. It wasn't egregiously lopsided like game 2, it wasn't even as horrible as game 4 of the Spurs (where San Antonio was getting all kinds of calls, particularly down the stretch that were ridiculous - that clean block of LO's as goaltending for example, that probably should have been a 2 shot foul not an automatic 2 point GT; Or Fish's shot hitting the rim but no shot clock reset, then the no-call to end the game on a it could possibly be a 2 shot foul, but Barry did dribble into Fish when he was in the air so it won't be called at the end of a game foul.
As far as the best team, unfortunately neither team has looked good at all. Between LA looking discombobulated with some different roatations thrown in and near abandoning of the trianle, and the Celtics "cheating tricks" D and bizzaro Nuggets pick-up game style of offense both teams leave a lot to be desired and are making for some fugly basketball to watch.

    Thanks badkitty. Smiling

Hopefully this doesn't get me flagged for talking sports and not about the celebs at the game:
I think Gasol will show back up when they get the inside-out and low-post game (you know, the main aspects of the Triangle offense) established early on in a game. Pau's very much a rhythm player and you have to get him involved early so he can establish some post moves and cuts or else he seems to fall back into being a pass first kind of player. They got him going early in game 2 and he had a pretty good night (17 pts, 10 boards (3 offensive), 4 dimes, 1 steal, 1 turnover). He was making quick, decisive moves - like taking KG off the dribble and dunking in his face - and not completely going for the soft flips and lay-ins (which I really wish he would try to finish more of those stronger, like that block Garnet
