Gwyneth Paltrow Keeps It Simple

Gwyneth Paltrow is sparkling on the cover of the May issue of Vogue. She looks like a metallic princess with her silver gown and flowing hair.

Gwyn is gearing up for the release of her next movie, the summer blockbuster, Iron Man. He even got to make a cameo of sorts next to the cover girl. We doubt that her character is as pristine as she looks here, but we're excited to see her ditch the sequins and take on an action movie on May 2nd.

Sorry but something is very "off" about that photo. Something about her face looks very un-Gwyneth-Paltrow-like

you'd think that, by now, if the magazine industry wanted to photoshop a cover, they would do it a little more subtly rather than in the SUPER OBVIOUS kind of way.

Someone really needs to fire all of the Photoshop artists over at Vogue. Lately all their covers seem to feature space aliens impersonating famous actresses.

Every cover is altered in some capacity. It seems that the editors have lost their perspective, though, when it comes to beauty that real women want to emulate. Sure, we like the eyes and teeth whitened, and few of the wrinkles gone, but we aren't fooled when they try to pass off GP as a 20-something-robotic Blake Lively. It's upsetting that they think we find this attractive. Trouble is, though, many of the people in charge of this tend to look this way in real life, so where is their perspective?

Wonder who made the gown... Marchesa?
Yes lots of photoshopping... her complexion is a little bit too translucent... though they do usually go for an ethereal look with Gweneth Paltrow

ROFL Jude C! That just made my evening.

I think it's Gwyn's hair that makes her look so weird. And the over photoshopping they did on her. She doesn't NEED photoshop lol.

    Cool

What on earth is that? If they feel the need to photoshop her to the point of no return, I can only imagine what they must think of us "normal" gals!

What is she leaning on? It looks like one of those weird Japanese robots who assist elderly people.

She's too photoshopped. Why? She's already beautiful!

Oh please. She wants it both ways. She's photographed by the paps with Madonna and has to make a spectacle of herself by keeping her head down while everyone else is just ignoring them, but here she is on the cover of Vogue. If she wants her anonymity back that badly, then she needs to get lost and avoid all cameras, not just the paps'. And I can't believe I said that because I hate what the paparazzi do to a lot of celebrities, but it's not like she's being covered 24/7 like today's "it" girls.

She looks way too photoshopped here. And is it just met or does anyone else find it strange she's going to be in an action blockbuster movie? It doesn't seem like her normal style, curious to see how it's going to work out.

FISHSTICKS! whatev, This is why i dont subscribe to ANY magazines anymore because a) the cover price is too high because they have to hire all these photoshop experts from outerspace and b)I dont know what is real anymore in regards to anyones body or features.

Weird cover. I can't believe they didn't get a better shot for the cover than this one.

Sorry cherryice, I couldn't possibly agree with you less. Of course she's going to do magazine covers and go to events trying to promote her newest project; it's part of the job. However, getting her picture taken in her workout gear while walking to the gym is not. It can be said that they have to expect the photogs, but that doesn't mean they have to like or encourage it. I know I certainly wouldn't. Let's not forget that celebrities being hounded the way they are now hasn't always been the norm.

BTW, you have no idea how much she or anyone else is hounded on any given day. Just because we see pictures sporadically doesn't mean they aren't ALWAYS lurking around following these people in their day-to-day lives. We just see the pictures people choose to publish.

Someone in the art department at Vogue needs to be slapped around a little. I know perfectly well that Photoshop is a necessary evil for cover photographs, but this doesn't even look like Gwyneth Paltrow any more. They went seriously overboard with the digital manipulation!

seriously, the photoshopping these days is getting out of control. these women do not need to be photoshopped in the first place, but if they are going to do it, then they should at least make it look like it could be real! it looks like they stuck gwen's body on a barbie doll.

    ps. can't stand her

Amesabelle, I don't think they have to like it or encourage it either. I'm sure Madonna doesn't care to have them in her face all of the time, but she just puts on her sunglasses and keeps moving. She doesn't pose and grin, but goes about her business talking with her friends or whatever. Gwyneth has to act like she's always being put upon and simply can't stand this fame that she has. So, if you don't like the publicity and cameras, step out of the spotlight. She was doing very well for awhile there - practically dropped out of sight. Anyway, I think it's that husband of hers that has created this. I'm surprised the man hasn't bought a Popemobile and hired retired Secret Service agents to encircle him every time he leaves his house.

I suppose I'm letting some of my bias get in the way of my opinion here, because her arrogant attitude really turns me off and it comes through in these photographs. He's no prize either, IMO.

Like a twenty-something robotic Blake Lively? Blake is hardly pretty (or talented enough) for this analogy. I mean, really, she isn't the epitome of youthful beauty au naturale: http://www.gossipgirlinsider.com/images/gallery/blake-lively-puppy.jpg

If I were famous, I would not want someone itching to catch me in a weird facial expression out on the street either. I can understand how someone can be an actress and not want to be a celebrity. Acting is a craft and not everyone who becomes an actor is interested in the celebrity factor.

While I am sure there is Photoshop involved, I often take photos where I look a bit unlike myself. I don't think her body looks Barbie dollish or that she looks overly bizarre. The overall tint of the photo and stiffness of the pose are what I find off putting.
