Lauren Conrad, Future Movie Star, Has Big Baggage

It's been quite the week for Lauren Conrad — on Monday she was in NYC for her record-breaking premiere of The Hills then back to LA but she was on her way out again yesterday afternoon. Love it or hate it, the show is quite the force these days and it sounds like MTV wants to make it even bigger. According to LC herself, they've talked about making The Hills into a movie! I don't know, there's no doubt that it's a living room guilty pleasure (including for yours truly), but do you think it would be a legit box office draw? Especially since we pretty much know the end result thanks to all their magazine and paparazzi coverage these days?

a Movie? okay I like the show but theres no way in HELL ima spend $11.50 to see that movie! NO WAY! Calm down now LC, you need to focus more on ur fashion line ok? good. cause it needs some major work.

(Imagine Heidi's HUMONGOUS chin and Spencer dry teeth on the big screen?! ahh no thank you.)

a movie is such a bad idea ... I love the show, and I understand the need to strike while the iron is hot, but sometimes too much of a "good" thing can turn people off. I doubt people would pay to see them live their lives. Most people (me included) are content watching it for free in the comfort of their living rooms.

i indulge in the guilty pleasure as much as anyone but would boycott the movie just for the principle of it. to be fair though, aren't we already paying for our weekly Hills dose as part of our monthly cable fees?

"I doubt people would pay to see them live their lives."

Isn't it well established now that they're living a carefully stage-managed and scripted version of their lives? I dunno, never seen the show, but if people are silly enough to watch that then I don't see why some viewers of a certain age wouldn't be silly enough to pay to see a feature length episode.

Seriously, I can't think of anything more lame than a movie of a faked reality show, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I don't know if the movie would be all that great HOWEVER The Hills does have its following (me included) and that may draw people to the box office. At first it may have the chance to pull in some respectable numbers.

She is looking really cute, I really love her scarf and still want that Rebecca Minkoff Nikki bag, ugh. Anyways, I love the hills and watch it faithfully every monday but NO I would not pay 9.50 dollars to watch a fake reality movie. They need to stick to the small screen and kick speidi to the curb while they are at it and more LO.

Well, consider the source, "according to LC herself"

Also, when they say movie, dont assume its going to the BOX office. It would more likely be made for tv, IMO.

Supposedly it would just be like an extra long episode, they'd do a bunch of filming and edit it and put all the clips together and create a "movie".

    Uh...yeah...great idea

wow - that's a LOT of baggage there - and you know that she's just taking a QUICK trip Smiling like for the weekend. as for the show surviving as a movie - i don't know about that. i think that if the timing was right and ther was nothing else out in the theater i might pay to go see it - but otherwise - keep it to TV. it's successful there.

Hmmmm...whenever I catch a snippet here or there of the show it seems like not much is ever going on. Like, there are flashy shots of LA and then Lauren and friends sit in a club and every once in awhile someone will say something, i.e. "Hi." Close up of Lauren's face, then "Hi." And then more flashy shots of LA. I just don't get how this show takes up a half hour let alone 120 minutes.

i'm not going to lie. i'd drag my friends to see it.

but i also agree it would probably be a movie on tv.

but think about it...it would take so little money to shoot. just making $5 mil. opening weekend might be a profit.

and $9.50? please. how much are we paying for starbucks nowadays?

"The Hills" movie? That doesn't even make sense, does it? I'm sure crazy people out there will buy into it (including me, I guess?..).
