A beard is someone of the opposite sex who "dates" or "marries" a homosexual so that everyone will think the gay person is straight. Celebs often have beards. Case in point: Star for Al (and heck, maybe Al for Star, too) or Katie/Nicole for Tom.

It's very sad whenever a person's life falls apart, but in Star's case I can't help but feel a smidgen of satisfaction. Maybe all of this will bring her down a peg or two.
