She's probably smiling because she's at an event where photographers are expected. She doesn't smile when she's on personal errands an the paps are shoving camera's in her face. I think if they all started covering their faces when they are in their own personal time, the paps might back off - probably not though, they are total, vicious, money grubbing landsharks.

I find it totally disgusting that people rag on her for not smiling in public when paparazzi are constanly on her ass. It's quite understandable actually.
