you know, I can usually be the first to understand that John has kinda a wacky sense of humor, but I think he's just being an *sshole ... and um, yeah, the PS makes no sense.

But, the p.s. at the end was a little contradictory to what the whole body of the letter was about. What would his English teacher say?

I think he just wrote that to get attention and make it seem like someone is chasing after him. It makes him look more desired but I doubt there is any substance behind it. The P.S. is the irony of the whole thing. I think it refers to the typical situation in which people break up but find themselves still seeing or talking to each other and it is never really over. It is him trying to be insightful about the whole relationship thing.

he is acting like such an ass by posting that, something that he KNOWS will make it around the internet and humiliate his ex..whoever he is referring to..i almost think tho, that for someone to invest that much time and effort..he must be bitter about something and that was his way of expressing it. Plus that PS means that he really doesnt want the contact to end anyways..weirdness

Anyhoo, if either were to be the real author of such a letter it would be Jessica. She's obviously happy in a new relationship. He seems to be the type to want to turn it around to look like she's the one not over it. No one likes to be seen as the one who was dumped or being rejected. And by putting in "oh btw, this doesn't mean anything" is just like saying something seriously but then saying, "I was just joking" when someone has a problem with it.

And btw, eff you John Mayer for making me say something nice about Jessica.

If you have ever been constantly badgered by an ex, you would know what he was talking about. I have a high school boyfriend that I dumped who still tries to contact me (he knows I am married), and another old one I dumped who continually sends me emails!! I wish I could let them know the same thing!!! And the PS was sarcastic...ever heard of that???

I say Jessica Simpson kept contacting him. She has been dumped more than anyone I know! Also, she is probably the most immature person around, needing her Daddy to make all her decisions.

Ok I have to say for the longest time I thought John Mayer was just an avaerage d*****bag too, but now I think he's kind of funny. I read some of his blog and the guy obviously has a warped sense of humor which I can appreciate because I do too. So I guess not everybody would undestand something like this. Anyway I'm sure it was just something on his mind and it may not be directed at anyone but was probably brought on by his feelings for one of his exes. He probably has the contradictory feelings displayed in the message and is just using the blog as an outlet. And for everyone talking about what a media wh*re he is, I think all of us have a side that wants to be noticed and celebrities actually have an avenue of expression that allows them that attention. Don't hate him because he chooses to exploit it.

I'm with the group that doesn't think it's directed at anyone. He's just messing around. I think he has a really sarcastic, dry sense of humor that a lot of people don't grasp. I have a similar dry wit and I can't even tell you how many people think I am a b!tch, when really I think I'm just funny .

And for those of you that don't like his music...his commercial stuff is not nearly as good as his Trio stuff. You should all listen to Try!. It's really good and he is a phenomenal guitar player.

i dont think it is about Jessica-everyone knows she is in a new relationshiop so he would not have put 'find someone who can put up with you' also he has been very nice about her post split.I think he is just after attention....god knows why when he conplains about the media.
