Elle Magazine has pegged Rumer Willis as part of a new breed of quirky Hollywood "It" girls. Recently Rumer has been busy hitting the red carpet and trying to make a name for herself apart from her A-list parents. She was scheduled to be Miss Golden Globe before the award show was canceled, and recently wrapped filming a movie with Katharine McPhee. With films awaiting release and an individual sense of style, is Rumer Willis the next "It" girl?

There's something about her that I like, she is definitely an individual style-wise. I don't think she's ugly, I just think she's unique, which can be a good thing. (Think Meryl Streep.) But major problem- what exactly is her talent??? If you're going to be an unconventional beauty then great, but you have to have some talent to back it up- like Ms. Streep. Otherwise you're just another useless rich and famous person. And we have too many of those already. Not saying she doesn't have talent, I just don't know, I've never seen her do anything but stand on the red carpet. Not convinced.

I suppose I like her quirky fashion somewhat. But she hasn't done anything that substantial in her life aside from having famous friends and parents. And really I know it's awful but she really does have an odd shaped head and tiny eyes and that particular pose in the shot up above doesn't do anything for her with her jaw tucked in.

I think Hollywood could force her into that role, but just looking at her - she's not ready. In every picture I've seen of her on the red carpet anywhere, she looks so caught off guard by the cameras and unsure of how she feels in whatever she's wearing. She's still a little girl, if you ask me. And that's a good thing.

I honestly think a lot of people are adopting their opinions -even their vernacular- about celebrities from ridiculously fluffy and anti-intellectual bullsh*t sites like Perez Hilton. It wasn't that long ago that individuals with some sense of unique style or looks were given the mass thumbs up, and now people are rabid about conforming to a very narrow idea of who deserves celebrity. Well f*ck that. As for Rumer Willis, I have not seen her do anything except attend some parties and have her picture taken, so my only opinion of her is that she has her *own* style, which is damn refreshing, to say the least. Anyone who thinks she's "ugly" needs to look around and get some perspective. I see a lot of hate directed towards her which only makes me think the people spouting the hate are IDIOTS. You don't know her. If you hate her or are even bugged by her something is wrong with the way you process the world. Stop being so eager to be part of a stupid herd.

Wow, I think some people are being a little harsh. I saw her out shopping once and from across the store she just seemed like this kind of gazelle-like, cool, grunge-chic girl. I didn't notice it was her until I was closer. So I guess I'm saying I think she might have that "something" that It girls tend to have.

I do agree that we need a new set of "It" girls...ones who have a little more talent and class. but as far as Rumer goes, I only know of her because she is The daughter of Bruce and Demi. I don't see anything really special about her except that she seems to stay outta trouble and she has a umm.. different look about her. she needs to prove herself before she can be considered an "it" girl.
