Woman of the Year? This makes her think people like her! WTF? Pretty soon she'll think she's getting the Artist of the Millenium award at the vma's like Michael Jackson thought he got a few years ago. And is it just me, or does she look really old here?

She's being so ridiculous and pretending to be stupid, but over the years, I've come to think there's more to her.. somewhere, very deep inside.. I hope it comes out one day, if only to prove that my hope for a better Paris Hilton wasn't stupid. That said, Harvard suddenly doesn't seem like such a highly educated school. Anyways, how is she woman of the year? Why are they rewarding her for her jail time and drinking and driving convictions? Seriously, LAME.

This is one of those joke awards that they give out. They say it's like getting a woman of the year award. It's pretty much a joke, and the people there hope she's not actually serious about it.

How did they decide the award should go to her? Did they not have any other woman on their list from which to choose? How have her misadventures over the past year had the largest impact on their students to quantify this selection? Ugh.

I live in near Harvard and here's the deal...this 'award' is given as a joke not by the University, but Harvard Lampoon - a stupid comedy group at the University. She probably has no idea they are making fun of her, but that's the point!

One thing about Paris...she can take a joke and can laugh at herself. That is one thing I like about the girl. That and the fact that she doesn't let anyone/anything ruffle her feathers.

Even if it is a joke, if I were her, I would refuse to take part in any of it because she said herself that she wanted to be taken more seriously and be more mature and not "act" dumb. This isn't helping her cause!

also i like her coat, she wore it during her trip to korea. i actually saved a picture i liked it so much. siiigh.

1.) I went to Harvard and it's actually a pretty wonderful school sooo please don't make assumptions without having correct context.
2.) The Lampoon is a social group/publication that owns a building on campus (and has for years) and has a major focus on comedy. Which would be why she is woman of the year. The Harvard Lampoon is in no way officially/actually affiliated with the University or Corporation.
3.) I think it's okay, kinda funny, people have to have laughs some way.
4.) To whoever made the hilarious comment about heiress speakers- lol no, they aren't. BUT those damn '08ers are getting JK Rowling to speak at commencement, which I am insanely jealous about.

I understand that this is an award issued by the comedy group, Lampoon, from Harvard, but I would expect a comedy group to select a comedienne as Woman of the Year, or even someone with more misadventures throughout the past year, rather than a socialite whose entire life is one big celebration. Then again, that probably is the reason they selected her. Sigh.
